Verb to be in Present Simple

Hello:

Today, we are gonna learn about the VERB TO BE IN PRESENT SIMPLE, so we are watch the next video to learn some examples about it.

Hoy, vamos aprender el verbo to be  que en español son los verbos ser ó estar , primero vamos a ver el siguiente video para saber un poco sobre aquello.

So, we 're gonna learn about the TO BE questions.

Ahora, vamos a aprender a como hacer preguntas con el verbo TO BE.

Ok, let's start with the explanation about TO BE.

Entonces ahora, voy a explicar el cuándo usar el ser ó estar en el inglés

1. To tell the age.

Para expresar la edad ; puede ser tener en inglés en éste caso.

Ex.

I am 20 (twenty) years old.            Tengo 20 años de edad


2. To tell about fellings in English.

Para expresar sentimientos.

Are you happy today?                      ¿Estás feliz hoy?

He's  thisty                                        Él tiene sed


3.To give instructions (You can use BE or MUST)

Para dar instrucciones y ódenes.

Ex.

He's at home all time                  Él debe estar en la casa todo el día

He must at home all time

4. To express qualities, behaviors and to plain events.

Puede servir para expresar cualidades,comportamientos e incluso planear próximos eventos.

Ex.

-They're smart at maths                 Ellos son pilos en matemáticas

-People are welcomed for tonight's party              La gente es bienvenida a la fiesta de ésta noche

- Linda is to be graduated next year                              
                                                                               Linda se va a graduar el año próximo 
Linda is going to be graduate next year

5.To tell about weather.

Para hablar del tiempo meteológico (el clima).

It's raining in New York                                Llueve en Nueva York

It's sunning in Santa Marta,                          Está haciendo buen tiempo en Santa Marta,
the weather is 34ºC                                      el clima es de 34ºC.

5. To talk about nationalities and countries.

Para hablar de los paises y sus nacionalidades.

Ex.

- I am Colombian                                               Soy colombiano

I am from Colombia                                          Soy / vengo de Colombia

- Mathilde is French                                          Mathilde es francesa

She is from Colombia                                       Élla es de Francia

- Paul is German                                               Paul es alemán
   he isn't Swiss                                                 no es suizo

6. To talk about occupations.

Para hablar de profesiones.

Ex.

-Nicholas is a lawyer                                      Nicolás es abogado

-She is a doctor                                              Élla es médica

- I'm a teacher but                                         Yo soy profesor

- Dan is not a priest                                      Dan no es un sacerdote
          (isn't)

El anterior video enseñaba el CÓMO USAR el PASADO SIMPLE en INGLÉS.

Now, we're gonna learn WHEN to USE this TENSE.

Entonces, vamos a aprender el CUANDO USAR el Pasado Simple en inglés.

RULES TO USE PS in ENGLISH 

1. To talk about a COMPLETED ACTION

Para hablar sobre una ACCIÓN ya REALIZADA.

Ex.

-He didn't wash the car. (El NO LAVÓ el carro)

-I saw the movie yesterday. (Yo miré ayer la película)

-Did you do the homework? (¿Hiciste la tarea?)


2. To talk about a SERIAL OF COMPLETED ACTIONS.

Para hablar de una serie de ACCIONES REALIZADAS .

Ex.
- I did my homework, washed my clothes and cleaned my room.                                               
(Hice la tarea, lavé mi ropa y limpié mi cuarto)

- Did you clean your rooms, read the book and did your workshops?
(¿Limpiaron sus cuartos, leyeron el libro e hicieron sus talleres?)

- They did not  neither watched TV, nor play cards.
(Ellos no miraron televisión ni tampoco jugaron cartas). 


3.About LONG ACTIONS.

Para hablar de ACCIONES que TOMARON SU TIEMPO.

Ex.

-You traveled to China last year. (Usted viajó a China el año pasado)

- I sat at the beach all day. (Yo me senté en la playa todo el día)

- We arrived to London last Sunday (Llegamos a Londres el pasado domingo).


4.To talk about habits in the PAST .

Para hablar de los hábitos de rutina en el pasado.


Ex.

-When I was 15 years, I studied English. (Cuando yo tenía 15 años, yo estudiaba inglés).

-He didn't play piano (El no tocaba el piano)

- Girls didn't go to study at University 50 years before.
 (Las chicas no iban a estudiar a la unversidad hace 50 años) .


5. To talk about FACTS, SITUATIONS and EVENTS in the PAST.

Para hablar sobre EVENTOS,SITUACIONES y ACONTECIMIENTOS en el PASADO; se utliza como pasado imperfecto en algunos casos.

Ex.

-In 1939, the world stated another war . (El mundo empiezó otra guerra en 1939).

-When I was child, I lived in Bogota. (Cuando era pequeño, yo vivía en Bogotá)

- It rained hardest 5 months bofore. ( Hace 5 meses llovisnaba muy fuerte)

WILL as SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE

WILL is use in English Garmmar as representation of  SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE to talk and express PREDICTIONS about the FUTURE.

Se usa WILL en la gramática inglesa para hablar sobre las PREDICCIONES en un FUTURO ( mañana, el próximo mes, dentro de seis meses , un año ó cinco ...). Así como los veremos a continuación.

Let's show the rules to use  WILL:

1.  If you talk about the FUTURE with EVIDENCES, please DON'T USE will, use BE GOING TO.
Si se habla del FUTURO con algún tipo de EVIDENCIAS, lo mejor es usar FUTURO PRÓXIMO ó
be going to 

Ex.

-I'll see Maria on Saturday X , because of it has not arranged evidences and plans.
                                                 no tiene lo acordado para este tipo de casos

-I'm going to see Maria on Saturday : CORRECT FORM .

2. Only , you can use WILL in  NON REAL FUTURE.

Se utiliza el WILL para un FUTURO que es simplemente una leyenda.

Ex.

-I hope, it'll be sunny tomorrow.


3. Note:

Use I hope / I think with WILL to make PREDICTIONS.

Solo se usa en el caso de Inglés para predecir con  frases como I hope ó I think .

Ex.

-I think she will work on Monday

- I hope, it'll be sunny tomorrow.

4. Also, you can use WILL when you make PROMESAS and SPONTANEUS DECISIONS.

Se usa WILL incluso para hacer PROMESAS y tomar DECISIONES INMEDIATAS 

Ex.

-I'll go to home when I have finished my job for today.

-David will play x-box when his homework is finished by him.

-It 's raining, I will take a bus to home.
